How to Make a Single Serving Strawberry Jam with Whisto Jel
Whisto Jel Strawberry Jam (Single Batch)
Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled & mashed)
½–¾ cup sugar (adjust based on sweetness preference)
1–1.5 tbsp Whisto Jel pectin powder
1 tbsp lemon juice (critical for pectin activation + preservation)
Optional: 1–2 tbsp water (if mixture is too thick initially)
Instructions
Prep the fruit Wash, hull, and mash the strawberries. If there’s excess liquid, you can lightly strain some off, but keep most of the fruit and juice together.
Mix dry ingredients In a small saucepan (off heat), mix the sugar and Whisto Jel together thoroughly. This helps prevent clumping.
Add fruit and start heating Add the mashed strawberries (and a little water if needed). Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring regularly.
Cook the batch Once boiling, continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens slightly (about 3–5 minutes).
Add lemon juice Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Cool and set Let the jam cool. It will continue to set as it cools.
Notes Adjust sugar depending on how sweet your strawberries are. If the jam feels too thick while cooking, add a small amount of water. Works with other fruits the same way.
